Athens, October 13, 2015 - The Ministry of Defence and the War Museum have scheduled for October 13, 2015 an Information Session on the project "Promotion of Exhibits through Interactive Electronic Applications and Services for the War Museum" which has been included in the OP Digital Convergence and is expected to be completed in autumn 2015.
We would like to remind that the purpose of the project is to digitize all the exhibits of the War Museum that includes guns, swords, equipment, uniforms, paintings, busts, medals, books, photos and historical cartoon material, to promote them through internet, the implementation of virtual applications navigation and educational games, as well as interactive representation of historical battles from ancient to modern Greek history.
The Information Session will take place at the Amphitheatre of the War Museum, is addressed to the general public (citizens, educators, historians, researchers, etc.) who will benefit from this important digitization project and modernization of the exhibits of the War Museum. Its aim is to present the applications developed for this purpose as part of the Project and the results of its implementation to the general audience.
At that point, we should note that the direct benefits of the project include improving the services offered by the museum, the preservation in digital format of museum exhibits, unlimited access to the collections of the world public and consequent promotion of the Struggles and the History of the Greek Nation.

The project aims at the development of an integrated environment regarding the management and presentation of scientific research and work of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. The project's philosophy is based upon the idea of building a digital repository providing all interested parties with free, immediate and constant access to digital academic and scientific material with no charges, fees and copyrights' limitations. The project's budget amounts to 227.078E plus VAT.

The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce through its Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee and the Athens Exchange Group held the 2nd pioneering global competition for innovative business plans called "Make Innovation Work". The awards ceremony of the best business plan took place on November 13, 2014 at the Athens Exchange Group premises in Athens.
In total, the competition attracted 107 business plans submitted by individuals and legal persons all from over Greece and Greek Diaspora.
